Welcome to Hirsch Metro High School - Home of the Huskies
A Message from Dr. Joyce P. Cooper - Principal

2011-2012

WELCOME! Welcome! On behalf of the entire administrative team, I welcome you to a new school year at Hirsch Metro High School. Just like our mascot, we live up to the Hirsch motto (created by a Hirsch student)—“We’re driven to succeed!” Huskies are sled dogs that work together as a team to pull a sled through difficult conditions, displaying strength and endurance until they cross the finish line. Our finish line is college, so we will work together with parents/guardians and the entire community to prepare all students to succeed in high school and beyond.

We have high expectations

To keep us on track, our immediate goals are:

    Attendance: 90% of all students on time for all classes;
    Performance: 90% of students earning a grade of “C” or better in all classes; and
    Behavior: at least 90% of all students with ZERO discipline referrals.

Please return lunch forms, with a parent’s or guardian’s signature, right away, to the Attendance Office. Funding for many school programs depends on submitting these forms quickly.

Program Changes
Students who want program changes should start by seeing their counselor during their lunch period. A few reasons for class changes will be honored (for example, if you previously passed the class). Changes will NOT be made simply because you would prefer a different teacher or a different lunch period.
